Another Star Over Alphabet City
This weekend my brother's family and friends cleaned out his L.E.S. apartment. Some 8000 records, 300 books, 100 pairs of shoes, 45 smoking ties, and 37 years of historical dust later, my brother was reduced to a single, white candle and a clear glass of water. I felt him give me the okay to take with me the big ass picture of Larry Levan that watched over his studio; and the tradition of hero/ancestor worship begins anew. Like tha glass of water that my brother now calls home, this life is both half-full and half-empty. And its This Life Forever.
It's been amazing getting to know you, big bro...thank you for letting all of us in. You are in my hands forever; everything I make is a monument to you. I love you lots my man . . .

beautiful and touching...
it seems at some point we will all be reduced (hopefully) to a single white candle and a clear glass of water. Keep your head up!
and don't forget that he is oh so much more than a clear glass of cool water and a candle burning bright... that his spirit lives on in ways we can only imagine...listen for those voices iyawo and you'll be amazed at what your bro still has to teach you yet...
